After screening and grit removal wastewater still contains organic residues. Aeration incorporates oxygen into the wastewater, which stimulates aerobic bacteria to breakdown the organic matter.
Diffused aerators are extremely efficient. They are placed at the bottom of the tank and release a continuous supply of bubbles into the wastewater. As they work their way to the surface, air from inside the bubbles dissolves into the wastewater and provides a continuous supply of oxygen. Diffused aerators are designed to distribute oxygen evenly throughout the entire tank.

The RAUBIOXON Plus Pipe Aerator with silicone membrane is designed to offer lower maintenance and power consumption cost in both municipal and industrial application.
Material properties of the silicone membrane:
High tear strength of 45 N/mm (acc. to ASTM D624B)
High temperature resistance of up to 120oC
Permanent elasticity
Resistance to oil and grease
No membrane hardening or shrinkage
Free of plasticiser
Low susceptibility to biofouling.
The RAUBIOFLEX Pipe Aerator has a high-quality EPDM membrane system with excellent oxygen transfer rates. It has been designed for continuous and intermittent operation.
Material properties of EPDM membrane:
Tear strength of 18 N/mm (acc. to DIN 53507A)
High temperature resistance of up to 80oC.
Both the RAUBIOXON Plus Pipe Aerators and the RAUBIOFLEX Pipe Aerators are available with a standard threaded rod connection or with REHAU’s patented Duo Saddle Lock connection.
