The screening process removes objects such as rags, paper, plastics and any other solids that are found in wastewater. One of the significant costs incurred by wastewater treatment plants is the disposal of these solids. Selecting the correct combination and configuration of laundering, washing and compression equipment can reduce the amount of solids for disposal and reduce the overall operating costs considerably.
Kuhn KSF Spiral Conveyors are used for transporting solid matter and sludge, especially sludge which tends to be tacky and sticky — such as siftings and screenings from wastewater treatment plants.
Kuhn KLS Sluicing Launders are used for transporting screenings slurry via gravity from the discharge of a screen to screenings processing equipment. The Kuhn KLS Sluicing Launder utilises the same trough as the Kuhn KSF Spiral Conveyor.
All Kuhn spiral conveyors and sluicing launders can be designed as completely closed systems thereby avoiding dust, moisture and odour emissions. Their high-quality, wear-resistant materials ensure a long service life. The construction is modular in nature to ensure maximum flexibility and customisation.
