Mechanical aerators are an excellent low capital costs aeration option with the advantage of maintaining the same performance efficiency for the life of the equipment. Ideal for smaller tank applications to larger scale earthen basins, mechanical aeration can be utilised in shallow or deeper water levels.
Where other aeration technologies require large infrastructure frameworks, mechanical aerators are simple to install, use, move and maintain.
The ATB Water AQUA 8 Floating Surface Aerator is a direct drive, high efficiency floating device for the aeration and mixing of wastewater. The AQUA 8 generates an upward directed flow. The accelerated water hits the baffle plate, which is located just above the water line, there it is deflected horizontally and generates a highly turbulent flow on the water surface. The turbulence creates extremely fine air bubbles, which are then pushed downwards by the flow. The result is an excellent oxygen transfer. The generated cylindrical flow leads to a perfect oxygen dispersion and at the same time to a complete mixing of the tank.
Features
The AQUA 8 Floating Surface Aerator comprises a separable float with suction pipe and the motor unit with propeller and distributor. All materials are made of V2A stainless steel or plastic. Other features include:
Fine bubble formation as a result of optimal transfer of kinetic energy on the water surface
Two-part float with motor and propeller
Propeller made of polyethylene (AQUA 8-M) or stainless steel (AQUA 8-T)
Float and spray cone made of polyethylene
Motor housing made of stainless steel
Guiding in the basin by two vertical stainless steel chains
Immersion tube, fastening material and guiding chains made of stainless steel
